Waasland Recycling is located in Sint-Gillis-Waas. We specialize in the collection, processing, and handling of all types of scrap metal. Every day, a motivated team of specialists is responsible for receiving and preparing the various grades of scrap.
Supported by a diverse fleet of machinery, we ensure that scrap metal of various grades and sizes can be processed according to our customers’ specifications. Whether it involves sorting, cutting, pressing, burning, or even grinding, we always offer the right solution to our suppliers.

Your role

As an all-around administrative assistant, you’ll support our team with a wide range of
administrative and logistical tasks. You’ll work closely with your colleagues and become a
crucial link in the day-to-day operations of our recycling activities.

Responsibilities
● Weighbridge management: You will manage the weighbridge for both incoming and
sales shipments, ensuring accurate recording and tracking of
weights. You’ll greet customers at the counter and handle the
payment.
● Arranging shipments: You’ll request shipments and track them. In addition,
you will accurately process the related paperwork in our system.
● Sales invoicing: You track shipments, verify the
contracts and inventory, and prepare sales invoices.
● Inventory management: In consultation with the site manager, you monitor inventory
to ensure we have sufficient stock for sales.

Your Profile
  • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • ​Initial experience in administration is required, as well as punctuality and the ability to handle stress
  • Logical thinking: You can assess situations and reason logically, for example, when weighing vehicles. Example: making the correct connection with specific supplier price groups.​
  • Team player: You are a positive-minded colleague who contributes to a pleasant work environment.
  • Computer skills: You are proficient in using a computer for basic administrative tasks.

Offer
● Permanent position option: You’ll start as a temporary employee, but with the goal of a permanent contract.
● Flexible schedule: We’re open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and until 3:00 p.m. on Fridays. Your
schedule is flexible, but you’ll never work on Saturdays.
● 40-hour workweek with no weekend work.
● Fixed vacation time: 3 weeks in the summer and 1 week between Christmas and New Year’s, including
long weekends. In addition, you’ll enjoy 12 additional days off.
